The farewell gig at Nosturi was epic and you, our fans and friends, made this experience and all past years incredible.
We couldn't have done this without you!
Finnish Kiuas deliver a 3 track dose of Melodic Metal, Its obvious that the music is influenced from various metal genrs since theyve managed to put together a highly enjoyable mix of Bands such as Children of Bodom, Sonata Arctica and I also come to think about Viking-metallers such as Falconer, Thyrfing & Cadacross.
Reason why I mention Sonata Arctica is infact that the vocals, which by the way are greatly performed, bitwise reminds me of the vocals of Tony Kakko (Sonata Arctica), but with a hint of Jorn Lande (Ark, Beyond Twilight, Masterplan etc.) and as they state themselves in the paper that was attached along with the EP a hint of Ronny James Dio. But personally I think that the best comparison would be a young Jorn Lande, which aint a bad comparison since Jorn Lande is one of my all-time favourite singers.
The musicianship on this album is top-notch, its obvious that these guys are no beginners on their instruments. The Demo was also recorded in the bands own home studio (except for the vocals on the opening track, which were recorded in Studio Tauko), and I must say that both sound & productionwise theres really nothing to complain about.
In these times when bands such as Children of Bodom, Sonata Arctica, Nocturnal Rites & other Melodic Metal/Power/Heavy Metal bands have high-selling rates Im pretty confident that it wont take long until Kiuas lands a deal with a good label, since this is good indeed and I personally wanna hear more than these 3 tracks.
