The farewell gig at Nosturi was epic and you, our fans and friends, made this experience and all past years incredible.
We couldn't have done this without you!
Of course we got another Finnish heavy Metal band on the role. Kiuas is the name. 'Born Under The northern Lights' is the title of their three track EP. They described their music as melodic metal with elements from various metal subgenres. This is true, i've heard several styles, from Yet (now) blackmetal, heavy metal, hardrock and Country like the intro tune of the Renagade and Celtic music. This musical form is really something you have to love otherwise you hate it. This is not my cup of tea but I can imagine a lot of others like this as well. I've heard a few influences from Finn Troll, Children of Bodom and In Flames due to their various melodylines and I even heard some eerie synthesisers like they used to play in Cradle Of Filth. Unfortunately Ilja Jalkanen (vocals) didn't have the power to convince. His voice is diverse but where is the power to glue the band as one. The Kiuas members are more than average musicians but I think they are trying to put too much elements into their music. I mean, doing this leads to a complete Chaos or a cacophony for those who like this stuff.
